May31-June 2

Hello Loves,
Life has been busy, hectic and tiresome these last 3 days. Saturday was our free day and we decided on a Bike Tour of Paris to hit the hotspots in a fun way, Sunday was a trip to Versailles, that we took with ISA (our program), and today Monday we went back to French class and made the long trek to ISA office to pick up ticket for an event I will tell you in a moment (I have to use these tricks to make you read the whole blog!)
Saturday- The bike tour started at 3 and ended at 7. We rode in huge roundabouts as well as small streets through out Paris. I was so proud that I didn’t fall once and either did Kali, although we stumbled at sometimes that were not our fault but the older people trying to ride in front of us. It was really great just to be around a lot of English speaking people that were out and about in Paris. The guide was a T-sip (Longhorn) and was an ok guy other than the fact that he seemed to think he was hotness born (which he wasn’t). All and all though it was fun and worth the Euros, we even got t-shirts from the tour co. The rest of the day went well enough, we came home and went out soon after for some drinks at an Irish bar. Nothing crazy happened just the usual attention we have been getting once they hear us talk and all of a sudden must know where we are from, what we are doing, what our names are ect. French are getting to be more predictable. They all ask about the horse and gun still and if we like George Bush. I won’t hold it against them though since I had major preconceived notions of what French men are like.
Sunday- We took a train out to Versailles. Really and truthfully there aren’t very many words to describe this day only wonderment. The palace and the gardens were so very elaborate your eyes get numb to the beauty of it all after a small while. I will post pictures, that won’t really capture the beauty, and you can see some of the sights we saw.
Monday- TODAY! Also nothing eventful has happened today. We had French class. I have noticed a pattern with my class attitudes. In the morning when we first arrive and start to speak my tongue is glued in my mouth and forming the words that is required to me is difficult to say the least. We have a break in about an hour and during that I recharge with “un cafĂ©” (espresso) and Kali and I split some pastry. By the time I’m in that room for the second half of class, I’m a pro. I will be spouting off French words like I was born doin’ it, most likely not correctly but at least after the break I feel no shame. French is great after espresso but before I want to pass out so I can get carted away.
Well that’s all folks. You are caught up with us in a somewhat abridged version. I think I am still tired from Saturday biking and walking all day Sunday.

Oh and Travis if I don't write tomorrow Happy 23 B-day and look for a letter in the mail from me!

S.

PS
Last time I posted this I forgot to tell you guys what the tickets were for, They were for a soccer game France v Columbia, France won!

Hey Savannah, I got your postcard! It was pretty cool, thanks a bunch. Stamps are expensive over there though, .85 euros to mail? Wow.
